DESCRIPTION
The Senior Designer is responsible for planning,
conceptualizing, creating and coding innovative web designs and Flash piece=

that support the channel programming, drive e-commerce and advertising revenues, and enhance=
the
experience that BBC America viewers have with the BBC America brand. The position works in collaboration with the =
Online
Director, Web producers, and Web Developer on a daily basis.
It
is the Senior Designer's responsibility to keep in constant communicati=
on
with the Online Director, Web Team and other departments in regards to stat=
us
of current and future design projects and work collaboratively with those
individuals to put forth the best possible product, sometimes on very tight
deadlines and with minimal budget.
PRINCIPAL
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and=
code creative and
innovative traffic-driving designs, flash pieces, and sponsorable content
offerings to increase online revenue, all in an effort to create an engagin=
g
web experience and destination at BBCAmerica.com.
Work closel=
y and collaboratively
with the Online Director, producers, and others to create the best web
experience for each site while working within budgetary and timeline
constraints.
Liaise with=
London design teams and
provide appropriate design direction and support for U.S. facing sites as t=
hey
are developed e.g. bbc.com=
, loveearth.com, topgear.com.
When applic=
able, work with internal
and external partners to provide original art files or oversee design proje=
cts.
REQUIREMENTS

A
bachelors degree in Applied Art and Design or related field of study=

Solid
Web design and coding background with a minimum of five years experience
=B7
Experience
with corporate branding
=B7
Deep
experience with HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash,
ActionScript and other Web development tools as well as content
management systems
=B7
Must
be knowledgeable in organizing information and creating navigational struct=
ures
that are user-intuitive
=B7
Strong
communication skills and detail oriented
=B7
Ability
to sketch out ideas clearly and create GUI boards, color comps and wire fra=
mes

Must be self-motivated, comfortable following
direction, and able to meet short deadlines
