The Interaction Ecologies Group at Nokia in Silicon Valley is researching and inventing new ways for people to use mobile and wearable technologies, and we need your help! We create, deploy, and study novel technologies, such as individual devices, collections of wearable devices, on-body interaction techniques and applications, and full experienc- es integrating and incorporating all the above.
About You
You’d like to be an intern with us in Summer/Fall 2013
Pursuing a Ph.D. in HCI, CS, EE, ME, ID, or related areas
Deeply interested in developing new interfaces and applications for mobile, wearable, tangible, and/or ubiquitous computing
Have a desire to deploy and evaluate new technologies in everyday life
Have experience in imagining, prototyping, and evaluating new ways for people to use technology
Interested in projects involving the deployment of wearable and deployable sensors and actuators, creating interaction techniques for novel wearable displays, or the application of augmented reality techniques to new devices.

Nokia – Silicon Valley is located in the beautiful city of Sunnyvale, CA. Our office is a two- minute walk from downtown Sunnyvale, filled with restaurants, bars, and specialty shops. Public transportation (Caltrain) is also a two-minute walk from our building. The city is less than an hour from the Pacific Ocean, and close to California’s famous redwood forests and beautiful Lake Tahoe in the Sierra Nevada for summer exploring and winter skiing. The weather is sunny, breezy, and mild year-round.
