[INTERN] Marketing, Teens in NYC New Media

Teens in NYC New Media Marketing Intern June 6, 2013

Program Description:

The Bureau of Maternal, Infant and Reproductive Health’s (BMIRH’s), Adolescent Reproductive Health Program (ARHP) is responsible for developing the Teens in NYC (TNYC) Preferred Referral Guide. The TNYC Preferred Referral Guide includes facilities that provide sexual and reproductive health services to adolescents. The Guide is featured in several different formats, including the TNYC Print Guide, TNYC Mobile App, TNYC 311 Listing (via 311, the NYC Information Line), and TNYC Online (visit www.nyc.gov and search for NYC TEEN). The Guide is marketed to young people and providers who serve young people through outreach to partners, and print and online media.

Behind the scenes the Teens in NYC program works with clinical providers to assess whether they meet inclusion criteria for the TNYC Preferred Referral Guide. Providers complete a Clinical Assessment on the TNYC Portal, a web-based system, and pass a Mystery Shopper Call assessment. These inclusion criteria are aligned with the Best Practices in Sexual and Reproductive Health Care for Adolescents which was developed as a guidance document for the City.

ARHP engages various community stakeholders including teens, adolescent providers and clinics, and professional organizations (American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM), American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), and NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH).
