You will work in a consortium of three higher educational institutes, companies and primary schools on the project “Co-design with Kids, Early Mastering of 21st century skills” funded by the National Initiative for Education Research (NRO).
At the heart of the skills future generations need to master are the 21st century skills, e.g. problem solving and creativity. Design education in which children work on real-life design challenges serves as a learning environment for developing these skills; however, knowledge about how to develop them among children is limited.
The consortium develops, applies and tests guidelines and tools to acquire these skills in the context of real-life design challenges. Researchers from different backgrounds, teachers and companies contribute to this iterative process. You will cooperate with a post-doc in industrial design and will develop and test the tools in classrooms from an educational perspective.
