JOBS at TechShop Brooklyn

Techshop is opening its first NYC location in partnership with NYC EDC’s Futureworks initiative! When we open this fall,, our 15,000 sqft makerspace in the Brooklyn Army Terminal will house the tools for manufacturing virtually anything you can dream up. TechShop Brooklyn will be a veritable playground for makers and inventors, with a waterjet, lasers, full machine and wood shops, and an extra 5,000 sqft of storage space for projects. We are currently building our team and have three full time positions that are perfect for the ITP community:
We’re looking for a talented manager with years of experience building and leading teams, preferably in a service environment. The ideal candidate is a maker with a working knowledge of the maker movement and advanced manufacturing market as a whole. General Managers must have a strong management background and a knack for inspiring teams of creative, independent professionals.
TechShop’s Dream Consultants (DCs) are a pivotal part of our mission to empower our members to build anything they can dream up, and the DC Lead drives these efforts. DCs not only maintain the overall functionality of a TechShop facility, they also help turn our members’ ideas into reality through direct support and engagement. The ideal DC Lead loves working with people in a shop environment, is great at troubleshooting equipment issues and is a master of task delegation. If you are a fabricator with a passion for tools and manufacturing processes, we want to talk to you.

We are at the forefront of fusing making and project based learning with education for all ages. From our introductory safety and basic use classes (SBUs) to our summer STEAM camps, TechShop is full of educational opportunities for students, members, and the community at large. The Education Coordinator is the main driver behind TechShop Brooklyn’s education programs, coordinating learning opportunities for new and existing members and developing new curriculum to support the needs of our community.
If you are interested in any or all of these roles, don’t hesitate to apply via the links provided above. These positions are based in Brooklyn, but we are also hiring at our other locations nationwide. Check out all of the available opportunities at TechShop on our Job Openings Page.
