For the last five years, I have been the founding Executive Director of NYC Kids RISE – the organization working to build a universal wealth building platform for NYC public school students. We recently finished our pilot (read more here) and in June the Mayor announced that we would be expanding citywide. (NY Times article here) So, we are in the process of the roll out and later this Spring kindergarten students and their families across the City will be able to activate and view their NYC Scholarship Accounts!
As a result, the expansion from ~3500 students per year to ~70K has meant huge amounts of growth for us. One of the new positions we are seeking is a Communications & Design Associate on our Communications Team.

As the Save for College Program expands citywide, NYC Kids RISE is searching for an organized, and creative digital communications professional to join our growing team. The Associate will play a key role in advancing the organization’s brand and platform by creating compelling content for a variety of print and digital formats, and supporting the organization’s communications efforts via web, email and other digital channels. The ideal candidate will be willing to roll up their sleeves, work cross-functionally with multiple teams, and manage multiple projects at once. The Associate will have an eye towards multiple stakeholders including: Students, Families, Schools, and Neighborhoods. They will also play a role in helping to design and execute a creative and inclusive digital communications strategy.
