JOB: Instructional Staff for Fall 2022 CDS Graduate-Level (DS-GA) Courses

The Center for Data Science is looking for section leaders and graders for our Fall 2022 graduate-level courses. The deadline to apply for these positions is Friday, June 3. See below for more information and links to the applications.

Section Leaders

Section leaders are responsible for preparing for labs, conducting lab sessions, and holding office hours. Section leaders should be comfortable with public speaking and leading a large recitation. Section leaders may also be required to attend the lecture. Section leaders can be graduate students or non-students. Undergraduates cannot be hired as section leaders. The work involves 5 hours a week, which counts towards the maximum of 20 hours that students are permitted to work on campus. The current compensation for a CDS section leader position is around $2,500 for the semester.

Graders

Graders are hired to grade homework/assignments, and may be asked to grade midterms and final exams. Other responsibilities include: posting homework/assignment information via NYU Brightspace (includes scanning of physical exams), collecting assignments (if physical copies are submitted), and uploading homework/assignment/exam grades via NYU Brightspace and/or Albert. Please note that grader positions entail roughly 10 hours a week on average for 14 weeks. When you are applying for the position, please be mindful of the 20-hours-a-week limit. The current compensation for a CDS grader position is around $4900 for the semester for the full 10 hours a week.
