At Fauna Robotics, we’re building a future where humans and robots cohabitate and collaborate. Our mission is to increase play and reduce work for humankind by building advanced robots for the home. We are based in New York, NY and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration.
Our Human-Robot Interaction team is looking for software engineers and design technologists to help build the software engine that will power the interface between people and machines. In this role, you will be highly multidisciplinary and will work across problems of reasoning, perception, and human interaction. If you are excited about working at the intersection of the digital and the physical, and especially if you are interested in how modern AI technologies meet the real world, we would love to hear from you!
What you’ll do:
– Design and build novel robot interactions on prototype hardware
– Develop new robot behaviors by leveraging AI, sensors, and software algorithms
– Work closely with cross-functional researchers and engineers
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
– 2+ years of professional experience in software development (bonus points for Python, C++)
– Ability to rapidly prototype ideas in code in an independent manner
– Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Nice-to-haves:
– Experience with robotics, ROS, Unix, IoT
– Experience with large language models or other AI techniques
– Experience with voice-based or other interaction design
– Experience with design tools, such as Figma or Blender
