Job description
Manage workshop and studio space, including power tools, hand tools, laser cutter, sewing machine, 3D and inkjet printers, and wood shop. Must have working knowledge and experience operating laser cutters, 3D printers and woodshop tools such as table saws, sander. Must have experience with Adobe software (Illustrator+Photoshop) and 3D modeling software. Must be highly organized with attention to detail. Monitor students during open shop hours, assist students with projects, train students on safety, maintain and clean equipment and shop, create and maintain online inventory, create equipment guides and tutorials for students.
Seeking evening availability from 5pm-9pm Monday – Thursday. Please list all availability in the cover letter—graduate students or PhD students only, with familiarity with the equipment listed above. In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base salary for student employment positions is $30 per hour for graduate students. The hourly rate for graduate employees is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 2110.
