Role: Design Technologist Intern (Paid) Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA (Preferably in-person) Team: SAP BTP Labs (R&D)
SAP BTP Labs is an R&D group focused on future-oriented solutions that shape the next generation of enterprise software. Our team already includes several ITP alumni who are leading Design Tech efforts on various innovative projects. We value the ITP mindset and are looking for more creative technologists to join us!
We are looking for candidates who:
- Technical Skills: Have experience in 1-2 programming languages/libraries such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, Framer, p5.js, d3.js, Three.js, or Unreal/Unity.
- 3D & Data Viz: Have a passion for (and preferably experience in) data visualization or 3D experience design.
- Design Tools: Are proficient in Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- AI & Prototyping: Have experience with AI-related projects and understand rapid prototyping and user-testing best practices.
- Soft Skills: Are team players with the ability to present ideas clearly.

I also wanted to clarify that we are very open to remote interns. We have successfully onboarded many remote interns in the past, and since SAP also has an office in NYC (Hudson Yards), students based there are welcome to work from that office whenever they like.
For the current students—especially those graduating this year—we offer a very flexible transition: they can start remotely (even on a part-time basis) while finishing their studies in NYC, and then potentially join us in person in the Bay Area after graduation. This has worked very well for us and the students in previous cycles, and we believe it’s an ideal setup for those looking to kickstart their careers.
