Open Call: MTA Arts & Design Digital Art → 5/28
Artists are invited to submit previous digital artworks to be considered for sites at Fulton Transit Center, Grand Central Madison, and Moynihan Train Hall for 2027 programming. This is an opportunity to create multi-channel installations using digital processes such as video art, film, animation, augmented reality, net art, game engines, generative art, and other forms. 
NY Woman Composers Seed Money Grants → 5/29
The New York Women Composers’ annual Seed Money Grant Program awards grants of $1,000 U.S. dollars each for a concert project that includes a substantial commitment to the performance of music by NYWC members. (Note: This is not a commissioning grant.)
Tulipán Arts & Culture Award → 5/30
This Tulipán Art & Culture Award supports individuals that are committed to enriching the Hungarian American cultural landscape.
Whiting Non-Fiction Award for Works-in-Progress → 5/31
The 2026 Whiting Nonfiction Grant for Works-in-Progress of $40,000 will be awarded to ten writers completing a deeply researched and imaginatively composed book-length work of nonfiction for a general adult readership. 
Open Call: Queens Based Artist  → 5/31
City as Living Laboratory (CALL) is seeking artists to engage and work with the Corona, Queens community to create socially engaged art projects as a component of the Water // Ways Cloudburst Initiative. This is a milestone-based paid opportunity, ultimately leading to a final public project.
Project Yz AAPI Artist Residency → 5/31
Project YZ is Yangtze Repertory Theater’s AAPI Artist Residency program. Launched in 2022, the goal of Project YZ is to support and build an artistic home for AAPI immigrant artists.

New City Critics Fellowship → 6/11
New City Critics is a fellowship program that empowers new, fearless, and diverse voices to challenge the ways we understand, design, and build our cities. A partnership between Urban Design Forum and The Architectural League of New York, the fellowship supports the development of critics from underrepresented backgrounds through guest lectures and workshops, research guidance, networking, and the production of new writing on a dedicated platform on Urban Omnibus.
The Ryan Hudak LGBTQ+ Dramatic Writing Award → 6/16
The Ryan Hudak LGBTQ+ Dramatic Writing Award is an $8,000 cash grant to be awarded to one (1) New York State-based playwright or screenwriter who self-identifies as LGBTQ+.
Young Climate Prize → 6/30
The Young Climate Prize is a mentorship and award initiative that supports global leaders under the age of 25 who are living and working on the front lines of the climate crisis.

2026 Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists → 7/2
QUEER|ART is a non-profit arts organization serving a diverse and vibrant community of LGBTQ+ artists across generations and disciplines. The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists sheds light on the under-recognized contributions of Black trans women visual artists and provides critical support to their continuing work.
Franklin Furnace XENO PRIZE for Artists’ Books  → 7/2
In pursuit of its mission to present, preserve, interpret, educate and advocate on behalf of avant-garde art, especially forms that may be vulnerable due to institutional neglect, cultural bias, their ephemeral nature, or politically unpopular content, Franklin Furnace has since 2023 offered the annual XENO Prizes for Performance Art and Artists’ Books, named in honor of xenophiles, people who appreciate all people and cultures.
