Summer 2011 Interactive Development Internship

Center City Philadelphia-based design studio Night Kitchen Interactive (whatscookin.com) is looking for a talented interactive development intern to contribute to exciting projects for museum clients. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career to be part of an experienced, award-winning design and development team; current development efforts include several large Drupal-based websites, interactive timelines, Flash-based learning activities, and mobile games.

Candidate should possess 1-2 years progression towards a degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent degree as well as knowledge of one or more of the following:

· XHTML / CSS implementation

· Javascript

· PHP / MySQL

· Drupal theming and module development

· iPhone / iOS application development (optional)

Please note that this is a development position requiring no graphic design expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to day responsibilities include working with our design and development team to bring projects to life. Intern assignments could include:

· implementing a Drupal theme

· adding new functionality to custom PHP websites

· implementing a mobile theme for a website

· developing an iPhone application for a museum

The intern will also be expected to do a range of administrative tasks, including: archiving,

mailings, data and word processing.

TIMEFRAME

40 hours a week for 12 weeks between June 2011 and August 2011

STIPEND

$3,000 paid in 4 installments and/or school credit.
