Web Application Developer (Django)

Unveiled Arts seeks an experienced backend developer to join our web development team based in NYC (Meatpacking District). Our ideal candidate will have a wide range of web application development skills, with professional experience building consumer-facing web applications, solid understanding of Python and Django, and demonstrated abilities to work in a multi-functional team environment.

Applicants must be interested in working for an exciting, rapidly growing start-up. We are looking for a young-spirited person with plenty of energy, motivation, and enthusiasm to work in our small, close-knit team.

Requirements:

• -Based in New York City
• -Completion of at least one professional object oriented programming, Django, and/or Python project
• -Expert knowledge of OOP/MVC design and a strong working knowledge of web application development using Django
• -Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL, etc)
• -Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and all other web development and related technologies
• -Working knowledge of Javascript, Ajax, and JS Frameworks (jQuery and/or Mootools)
• -Familiarity with software versioning systems (Mercurial, Git, SVN) and ability to administer servers
• -OS X Development Environment (We only have Macs in the office)

Responsibilities: Backend (server-side) development and maintenance of current and future Unveiled Arts projects

Hours: Full Time

Start Date: Immediate

Compensation: Salaried at roughly 60-70k, D.O.E.
