I wanted to send along to you our announcement of our second annual Summer Innovation Lab Internship Program. Our first year was very successful with students from Institute of Design and Parsons. We’re casting our net a little bit wider – going coast to coast! – from all the top schools. This means any student coming from your program would have the opportunity to work with students from other schools! (Also, we are hiring for a Design Research Associate – new Masters graduate – so if you want more info, please email me!)

Summer Innovation Lab Internship 2011
Start date: End of May or beginning of June 2011
End date: mid-August (total 10 weeks)
Payment: Stipend based upon experience and education
Work schedule: 40 hr/week, Mon-Fri
Position description:
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is looking for a Summer Innovation Lab Intern. The candidate would have a strong personal interest in working
in the health care field with a demonstrated ability to utilize empathetic design research and development methodologies creatively through client based projects.
Summer Innovation Lab Interns will be paired in graduate and undergraduate project teams. Potential projects include patient education/communication
design and patient experience/service design with a technology component.
Knowledge + Skills:
· Knowledge of Communication Design, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Service Design, Graphic design
· Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) web skills a plus.
· Good communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively
