POSITION DESCRIPTION AV/IT Projects Coordinator
Position works closely with Exhibitions, Curatorial and Education
staff on implementation of exhibitions and all other departments on
museum events which involve AV/IT components.
Working hours will be 40 hours/week, 10:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday. Position requires occasional work on weekends and
evenings as necessary depending on schedule of exhibitions. The
position reports to Exhibitions Manager and Manager of Information
Technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all AV/IT technical aspects of exhibitions including
production, equipment and software purchasing, installation and
planning. Plan and implement projects clearly and effectively with
artists, curators, registrar and installation staff. Responsible for
installations of video equipment, new media art projects and web
based presentations in the galleries.
Responsible for assisting other departments in their multimedia
production needs beyond basic imaging such as production of digital
video/audio files, DVD, and Power Point, PA system set up, video/
teleconferencing.
Manage AV/IT exhibition and in-house equipment and resources and
technical infrastructure.
Responsible for building-wide digital signage equipment,
infrastructure and software.
Develop long-term/short-term technology plans in coordination with IT
department and Director’s Office. Perform special projects as
assigned and required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication skills, positive, constructive attitude in
collaborative work environment. Candidate must have at least 2-3
years experience with exhibition installations in a museum or gallery
as an AV/IT technician.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE
Software:
Professional level working knowledge of imaging and video editing
software, including Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier, Avid, Final
Cut Pro or Motion.
Administration knowledge of Mac OS X (server), Windows 2000
