A professor at NYU’s School of Social Work is looking for a part time web developer to assist with the maintenance and development of the Information for Practice blog ( www.nyu.edu/socialwork/ip/ ). The primary projects will include redesigning the blog’s look and feel, and integrating external content feeds into the site–with a mechanism for the prof to add additional items and modify, approve, or delete items from the feeds prior to publication (if possible).
The ideal candidate will know HTML and CSS; be familiar with blog software (especially Movable Type) and content feeds; have some graphic or web design experience; and be self-motivated, responsible, and a creative problem solver. PHP/Perl and/or other scripting language experience a plus.
Hours: Approximately 8-12 hrs per week (flexible); primarily telecommuting; primary projects to be completed this summer, with the possibility of additional work continuing into the fall semester.
Pay: $17-20 per hr. depending on skills & experience. Work study welcome.
Contact: Send resume and/or portfolio to kate.monahan@nyu.edu.
