JOB: Manager, Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival, AMNH

JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager, Margaret Mead Film & Video Festival and
Public Programs, American Museum of Natural History

This position sits within the Public Programs division of the
Education Department

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Full time starting ASAP

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Organize and manage all festival operations as well as design and
implement public programs year round
*Hire, train and manage all seasonal festival staff and interns
*Manage contracts, publication production, work with web designer
*Work closely with internal divisions of Museum
*Develop community-programming partners
*Expand national/international-touring Festival
*Participate in festival programming and panel design
*Ability to work under pressure
*Fundraising track record for media programs
*Familiar with cultural /science programming for adult and family
audiences
*Ability to work some nights/ weekends

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and passion for international documentary film, and public
events featuring science and culture
Experience with Film Festivals or Public Programs a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Team player who can juggle multiple projects and work well under
tight deadlines
Highly organized and detail-oriented
Interested in all aspects of public programming from adult lectures,
to family workshops as well as other film screenings throughout the year
Some management experience
Grant-writing experience
