JOB: first years only – NYU student technical assistant

Undergraduate students are preferred, but grad students who can work
for longer than 2 semesters may also apply. Student who cannot work
more than 2 semesters will not be considered, due to the training
time required for the position. The job is not limited to work study.

Job Posting for Student Technical Assistant

NYU Department of Facilities and Construction Management (FCM) is
looking for an undergraduate student who is eager to do application
development and support.

The candidate should be available to work as a student for at least
two – three years. They should be willing to learn new skills and
take initiative.

The position involves development of applications using PHP and
MySQL. The candidate should be experienced in HTML and CSS, and have
familiarity with relational databases, Java and Javascript. Knowledge
of SQL, server-side and client-side scripting is preferred.

In addition, there are technical support and data entry tasks that
need to be done on a regular basis to maintain departmental systems.

This job will provide lots of practical experience in scripting
languages and application support.

Expected Start Date is September, 2008.

Salary per hour is $15/hour
