ASSISTANT /ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR, TENURE-TRACK
Full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor. Salary
commensurate with experience. Benefits competitive. Position to begin
August 16, 2009. MFA required.
We are seeking a dynamic individual employing technology with
aesthetics to produce multi-disciplinary work that crosses between art
and design. Ability to teach all levels of new media in a studio art
program which currently includes ceramics, graphic design, painting,
photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Extensive experience in at
least one of the following areas: multi-screen video projection,
computational design, generative visual programming, data
visualization, programming for interactive and/or web environments
both on and off screen, sensor controlled objects and environments,
real-time graphical production and/or motion capture, augmented
digital performance, robotic objects and technology intervention in
public space. Experience and expertise in areas of traditional media
is encouraged and welcomed.
Knowledge of contemporary and historical visual arts, design, and
theory. Research in area of specialization. Professional record and
previous teaching experience highly desirable. The person hired will
have shared faculty responsibility for developing departmental and
cross-collegiate programming in new media. Contributions to the
general education mission of the college.
