Innovation Director
Sustainable South Bronx (SSBx), a not-for-profit environmental justice
solutions organization located in The
Bronx, New York, is seeking an Innovation Director to manage, design
and market the SSBx FabLab
program to and outside the South Bronx Community. The position will
provide the candidate an in-depth
and unique experience with the non-profit and social-enterprise sector
with regard to developing and
overseeing all aspects of the SSBx FabLab and other Social-enterprise
endeavors in a high-impact and
uniquely grass-roots organization. Challenges include creating
innovative approaches and methods while
balancing out the practical aspects of optimal delivery and maximum
impact of program services. The
position requires contributing leadership and expertise in Digital-
learning Technologies and Sciences,
Technology, Education and Mathematics (STEM) education, particularly
as it relates to the achievement of
students from the South Bronx and other low-income communities.
The Innovation Director will use and develop advanced program
management, marketing and
communication skills, implement program evaluation and improvement
initiatives, as well as apply technical
skills. Ability to multitask is a must. In addition, the Innovation
Director will benefit from practical
experience working with a nationally recognized community-based non-
profit organization.
POSTION SUMMARY:
The Innovation Director is responsible for overseeing the overall
operations of the youth and adult
programs in the SSBx FabLab, development of college prep, youth
program agreements, and the
development of business plans for the FabLab program, including the
exploration of earned-income
opportunities.
