of services, including supplemental sanitation and security, economic develo=
pment, streetscape and transportation improvements, marketing and enhanced t=
ourist services. The mission of the Downtown Alliance is to be the principal organizati=
on that provides Lower Manhattan’s historic financial district with a premie=
r physical and economic environment, advocates for businesses and property o=
wners and promotes the area as a world-class destination for companies, work=
ers, residents and visitors.

iance is opening with support from the New York City Economic Development Co=
rporation. This new full-time=
position will report to the Senior Vice President for Planning and Economic=
Development and will collaborate with Downtown Alliance Economic Developmen=
t staff. The coworking space =
will provide flexible, affordably-priced workspace for consultants, freelanc=
ers and budding entrepreneurs and small businesses and will offer workshops,=
educational and training opportunities, as well as space for outside groups=
to host events. This type of=
collaborative work environment aspires to create a community space for entr=
epreneurs where ideas can be shared and exchanged, sparking innovation and n=
ew business opportunities. Th=
e Hive will further the organization=92s mission of supporting local entrepr=
eneurs and the growing live/work population in Lower Manhattan, spur economi=
c development in Lower Manhattan by nurturing small businesses, and establis=
h Lower Manhattan as a place that supports and attracts innovative people.
ve@55 will serve as the day to day manager of the coworking facility and wil=
l serve as a liaison between the Hive and the Downtown Alliance. The facility will be open and staffed f=
ive days a week, and the Director is expected to work 40 hours per week incl=
uding evening hours. With par=
t time support, the facility will be open approximately 12 hours each day. Day to day responsibilities wi=
ll include creating a weekly staffing plan and coordinating with other Downt=
own Alliance staff, as well as facility management tasks such as:
