Overview:
The Digital Capture & Devices User Experience (DCDUX) team located at Kodak’s worldwide headquarters in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced and highly talented User Experience Strategy & Innovation Leader to participate in the creation of exciting new digital imaging products within a vibrant andgrowing design community.
The Strategy & Innovation Leader will manage a small, high powered team of user experience design professionals in the development world class strategic design and usability direction to feed implementation on a progressive portfolio of consumer digital imaging products. Portfolio includes hardware, software, and web service based components that integrate for system level workflows. Scope encompasses all aspects of industrial, user interface, graphical, and human factors design disciplines. The team will envision forward design and usability solutions that differentiate DC&D products; create user-centered design solutions that ensure imaging product excellence that meets or exceeds customer needs; improve our competitive position; lead through user experience design innovative products and services to increase revenue and margins for the company.
Responsibilities Include:
* Research and characterize user, design, technical, and market trends leading to user experience strategy roadmaps for industrial and user interface design.
* Develop visionary user experience architectural frameworks, prototypes, and demo=92s on a 1-3 year forward product time horizon.
* Apply latest human centered design methods to properly formulate and validate proposals based on facts.
* Translate strategic direction into implementable, well documented architectural and design language documents for use by user experience group designers working on current year product development programs.
* Effectively collaborate/integrate with key partner organizations including marketing, technology, and the corporate brand strategy group.
* Conduct all aspects of human resource management including hiring, retention, development, and direction of world-class strategic design talent.
* Establish, maintain, and optimize relationships with noted academic and industry leaders.
* Operate as a strategic design and usability thought leader, positively influencing our design group, marketing, and development partners to strive for recognized design excellence and innovative products & services.
* Work with DC&D organization to understand their strategic needs, define short and long range strategic design requirements, successfully minimize compromised quality of design deliverables due to business unit issues, and ensures that all design decisions are driven by DCD UX to serve the best interests of the customer and the business.
* Assist in bridging the Corporate Design Strategy group’s design direction into DCD pre-commercialization and commercialization programs.
Mininimum Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in User Interface Design, Interaction Design, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Human Computer Interface, or Human Centered Design.
* 10+ years professional experience leading various combinations of Design Research, User Interface Design, Industrial Design, and Human Factors Engineering with hands on experience in new product development.
* Expert knowledge of strategic human centered design, product innovation, business, and technology trends and practices is a must.
