WEB DEVELOPER – NYC, NY
Autism Speaks is a leading not-for-profit organization in the health and services sector. We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Web Developer to join our Social Marketing team in New York City on a contract-to-hire basis. The Web Developer will be responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the awareness and fundraising sites, and electronic communications tools.
Responsibilities:
Implements the technology and web site strategies set by the Web Architect and CCO
Works closely with the Web Architect to determine the proper architecture, coding and implementation of all AS web properties
Promotes quality control protocols and consistency for online publishing
Designs, codes, and tests technical solutions and conduct user acceptance testing
Designs and implements user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.
Minimum Bachelor’s degree – prefer Computer Science and/or related degree. Minimum of 3 years of experience in web development, web production or Internet-related field; prefer not-for-profit industry experience. A minimum 2 years of experience in using CMS/template driven systems such as Drupal, Joomla or WordPress is required. A minimum one year of Kintera experience (Blackbaud Sphere or Kintera Sphere) is preferred.
Technology required: Source control systems like Subversion or git; proficient in (X)HTML, CSS, XML with intermediate knowledge ofjava_script, PHP, and ASP .NET, AJAX, UML, MySQL, SOAP, Perl, Apache and OOP; development experience within Drupal preferred.
The selected candidate will have a strong technology background and able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
