I am writing with notice of some job opportunities, and I’m wondering if any of you folks might be a good fit. I work at a tech start-up in San Francisco called Inkling (www.inkling.com), which is bringing educational content (textbooks) to mobile devices like the iPad. This isn’t just glorified content management with other people’s software–we’re actually building a whole new platform to best present the textbook material to the student (and to add multimedia enhancements for learning and assessment). It’s an amazing place, and we’ve already done two major releases of the platform and are building our book library each month. We are scoping all kinds of content (we currently have titles in biology, psychology, economics, sociology, public speaking, marketing, music appreciation, etc.), and working with the major textbook publishers to bring Inkling versions of their books to market.
We’re actively looking to hire in lots of different roles, from engineering and operations to content and design (I am a Content Architect, and get to scope and project manage the titles that come through our door). In particular, I’m hoping to find more content people with experience in Anatomy and Physiology, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Business/Finance/Economics, etc.
