Web Engineer for Startup
We are turning exercise into a game with real-life rewards. With the proliferation of fitness tracking apps, we’re building the logical next step in consumer-driven wellness. Our team is still small, which means you’ll have ownership and impact on what you create.
We are looking for someone with a very strong web development background to become the 3rd member of our start-up family and to help turn our pipeline of new feature ideas into reality. Our userbase is growing 10-15% month-over-month and shows high amounts of engagement.
Must haves:
- A proactive, get things done attitude
- Inquisitive nature
- Excellent communication skills (we are a distributed team, so this is essential)
- Sense of humor
Nice to haves:
- Mad server coding and OOP skills (we use PHP)
- Experience using frameworks (we use Yii)
- Experience figuring out and consuming 3rd party APIs
- Experience designing and optimizing databases (we use MySQL)
- HTML/CSS skills (don’t need to be a designer)
- Not afraid of javascript (we utilize Jquery to make JS a joy)
- Some sys admin and scaling skills (we run Ubuntu Linux in the cloud)
