JOB: Senior Interactive Designer, CBS Local

JOB DESCRIPTION

CBS Local is seeking to hire a Senior Interactive Designer to execute website design projects. Taking direction from Product, the Designer carries out the established design for a project as well as supporting and contributing to the creative and interactive process. This role requires a person who is constructive, collaborative, and committed to a creative vision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop storyboards, mockups, wireframes and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and visual designs for new content sections as well as enhancing the existing CBS Local web properties.
Deliver mockups to the product team and/or HTML/CSS to the web development team.
Contributing well developed ideas during brainstorms and conceptual meetings

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
5+ years of web and interactive design experience
Extraordinary product, interaction, and visual design insight. A passion for simple, elegant, intuitive UI.
Deep understanding of tools, current technology, trends and design principals and how they apply to the interactive space
A diverse and engaging body of design work that shows your ability to problem-solve and work on a variety of different size and kinds of projects (Flash, Large Sites, Micro)
Has the ability to turn functional requirements and wire-frames into amazing UIs
Strong working knowledge of CSS, XHTML, JavaScript, HTML, DHTML and XML.
Strong verbal and written communication and problem solving skills
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working in an extremely fast paced environment with a high level of turn around.
A solid understanding of user behavior as it relates to design
Experience is developing high level user experience concepts, as well as detail oriented UI development
Experience and interest in the news, media and entertainment industry a plus
Experience designing for WordPress is a huge plus

Online portfolio is a must
