Apple will be coming to ITP some time in March for 1-on-1 interviews.  Deadline to apply will be February 25.  Internships include:

Human Interface Group Intern

The Apple Human Interface Group (HIg), responsible for crafting the user interface design of the iPhone and OS X, is looking for an intern. The HIg Intern is a student who has the ability to solve problems creatively, has an interdisciplinary sensibility toward graphic, product and digital media design and are open to learning about and contributing to the future of computer interaction.  He or she will be assisting the team with everything from icon to application design, and will be involved in individual and group critiques of their work.

Qualifications

Top candidates will have proficiency in illustration, a basic understanding of user interface principles, sensitivity to typography and color, a general awareness of materials/textures, and a practical grasp of physics and animation.

A working knowledge of OS X, iPhone, Photoshop and Illustrator as well as a willingness to learn on the job is a requirement.  Experience in Director, Quartz Composer, 3D computer modeling, motion graphics, sound design and copy writing are a plus.

Hardware Tools – Web Design Intern

Apple is looking for a talented and enthusiastic design student to join our Hardware Tools group.

Some responsibilities include:

  • Implement the creative vision and overall look and feel for projects based on design objectives, product requirements, functional specs, and an iterative feedback process.
  • Convey design ideas via storyboards, and prototyping tools.
  • Create deployment-quality mocks and prototypes on tight timelines.
  • Maintain and refine graphic standards and corporate branding throughout the product’s interface.
  • Review completed projects for consistent and correct look and feel.
  • Support development teams through implementation.
  • Web application design experience with an emphasis on visual design
  • Drive and passion to improving user experience & usability.
  • Be a strong advocate for the user.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors in web design or graphic design.
  • Understanding of graphical web design principles, typography, composition, and iconography.
  • Strong computer skills and a demonstrated expertise in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator or Fireworks.
  • Aware of industry trends, able to incorporate new techniques and informs others
  • Portfolio of online applications showing a good sense of usability combined with good layout and visual design.

Marcom – Web Design

Apple is looking for a talented and enthusiastic design student to join our Interactive group.

Some responsibility includes:

–           Assisting in the planning, creation, production, and maintenance of Apple web projects, such as product launches and other online marketing initiatives

–           Internal group responsibilities include comping and presentation preparation, graphics production, electronic file organization, and some studio maintenance

–           Co-op will work closely with designers, art directors, creative directors, writers, producers, and web developers

–           Will be an integral part of the Apple.com team

Qualifications

Graphic Design Intern

The role of an Apple Graphic Design Intern is to provide support for the various Graphic Design teams including packaging, retail, events, print collateral, and special projects. This position is responsible for assisting/supporting in the following areas:

Design support

–       Assist in projects (design, layout production, photography)

–       Scanning project images

–       Photography research – online and stock books

–       Assist in organizing/archiving photos and projects

–       Designing in-studio projects

–       Aid in setting up various presentations to studio and marketing teams

Comping:

–       Mounting and trimming presentations

–       Building packaging, boxes and brochure mock-ups

–       Building models

Maintaining Production Area

–      Upkeep of plotter and Xyron machines – making sure they are    properly loaded and functioning

–      Upkeep of production area – organization, supplies stocked etc

Minimum Requirements

–         Currently enrolled in a degree in Graphic Design, or other related design disciplines

–         A portfolio of projects that demonstrates good typography skills, strong design potential and an understanding of concept development

Marcom –  Motion Graphics

Apple is looking for an enthusiastic and sincere design student who is able to follow direction and be self-motivated, to join our Motion Graphics and Film & Video group. You will be closely involved with the day-to-day operations within the group. Projects may vary from video shoots, post-production, asset preparation to motion graphic animation. You will get an understanding of how the Motion Graphics, Film & Video team play a vital role within Apple, especially in partnership with Retail, Web, and Channel.

Some responsibility includes:

–           Organization, production and animation across a range of   deliverables including, but not limited to: screen savers, brag reels, attract loops, window displays, channel plinths, web quick tours, guided tours and keynote animations.

–          May be expected to help out with non-creative tasks such as asset management and project archiving.

Qualifications

–           Strong conceptual thinking; able to convey strong ideas in your design and animation, without just relying on visual effects

–           A solid ground in basic design principles of type, color, layout and presentation. Not just an animator.

–           Proven abilities in After Effects. Modeling, texturing, lighting and animating in Cinema 4D is a bonus

–           Ability to storyboard and convey ideas/motion through style frames

–           A team player

–           A good attitude

iTunes Music Relations

The iTunes Music Relations team is responsible for all the music promotions inside the iTunes Store as well as the relationships with record companies and artist managers, original content initiatives and PIng. We work with the record labels and artist managers on a regular basis to ensure that all of our priorities and initiatives are aligned.

The team is responsible for the store home page and genre pages, as well as in promotional programs including the free single of the week, discovery download and various email newsletters.  We are also responsible for creating original content in the form of iTunes Sessions, iTunes Live – Live from SoHos, etc. and Celebrity Playlist Podcasts.  

We’re looking for an intern to support our team this summer, to help plan and execute promotions and to help screen and organize the thousands of CDs we get sent every month. You’ll get unprecedented access to the workings of the world’s most successful digital music store, and the chance to meet some of the most influential people in the digital music world.

Profile

We’re looking for a music fanatic. You might have a show on your college radio station, write reviews for websites and magazines, DJ live events or manage and promote acts in your area. However you choose to get involved, you live and breathe music. You’ll also be familiar with iTunes and the general shape of the online music market. You’ve got to be a team player that can work under pressure and meet deadlines. It’s a fun job, but it’s a serious business too, so you’ve got to be able to behave professionally in the office and at gigs, with the people you work with and in front of artists and labels. Most of all, you’ll be keen to learn and happy to help out with whatever needs doing to keep the store running from day to day.

Skills

The successful candidate will be well organized with an encyclopedic knowledge of at least one genre of music. You’ve also got to be comfortable using a computer for research, consolidating information in spreadsheets, and making modifications to the store with our in-house content management system. It would be a bonus for us if you can speak Spanish, write about music or have basic radio/podcast production skills.

Qualifications

– Working toward degree in Music, Mass Communication, Radio, TV, Film or similar.

Job Title:  iTunes Customer Experience Intern

This position is a member of the iTunes team and will work to enforce the adherence and preservation of iTune’s quality standards. This position will collect, analyze and take appropriate action for all feedback, input, and concerns submitted by our internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

–     Reviewing and addressing customer feedback regarding inappropriate comments, reviews, and content on all iTunes stores (App, Movies, Ping, etc.)

–     Proactively monitoring the iTunes store for inappropriate comments, reviews and content.

–     Analyzing and resolving customer claims regarding faulty content (songs, video, etc.).

–     Participating and/or leading projects with internal teams to test new and/or enhance current support tools.

–     Providing feedback to management to improve tools, policies and procedures.

The position requires excellent communication skills, and a sense of humor, as well as resourcefulness, and ingenuity in solving problems.

Lifestyle Marketing Manager Intern, iTunes

iTunes is looking for an MBA intern to help develop impactful marketing strategies, tactics, and programs to reach the Urban and Latin audiences. These programs will be well-integrated with and complement programs and priorities developed by the Marketing, Product Marketing, Music Programming and Label Relations, Video Relations, Corporate Communications and Marketing Communications teams.

The role includes evaluating and executing scalable, high-impact marketing programs with a range of companies focused on the urban and Latin markets, including consumer brands, radio stations, television networks, entertainment publications, online businesses, concert promoters, as well as other online and offline marketing entities. The Lifestyle Marketing Manager Intern will be measured according to his/her ability to execute on marketing programs that acquire new customers and generate sales, exploring and capitalizing on emerging opportunities. Programs developed will be assessed based on overall impact to sales and revenue, cost-effectiveness, ROI considerations, and alignment to Company goals and strategies.

We’re looking for someone who is a lifestyle expert on the urban and/or Latin audiences – collaborating with team members responsible for acquisition and retention programs, sales, promotions,, music and video marketing, online and affiliate marketing, and product management for the iTunes application and the iTunes Store.

Qualifications

–           BA/BS required with strong analytical background; MBA preferred

–           2-5 years relevant entertainment music marketing 

–           Experience in developing and executing large national consumer music marketing programs

–           Excellent relationship management abilities/strong interpersonal communication skills

–         Relationships with key companies in the music and entertainment industries

Summer Intern – Sales Planning and Account Management

Apple’s iAd division is looking for a Summer Intern to support its Sales Planning and Account Management Team. This individual will work closely with sales, sales planning, client service and strategy. We are looking for an innovative, detailed, process-oriented individual. This position will be based in New York.

Description:

–        Support the iAd Sales, Sales Planning and Account Management Teams.

–        Create media plans and presentations to prepare sales reps for client meetings.

–        Manage pipeline of meetings and proposals.

–        Forecast available inventory on the Apple network.

–        Utilize multiple research and information sources to document market trends.

–        Interface with sales and marketing teams on special projects.

–        Support Account Managers to ensure the successful delivery of advertising campaigns.

–        Verify campaign setup pre-launch.

–        Perform a daily check of all ads across the network to ensure campaign success and proactively recommend ad inventory optimization changes.
