Our Digital Designer creates compelling, original designs for everything ranging from interactive platforms (websites, software applications, etc.) to occasional marketing materials (presentations, ad campaigns, etc.). The Digital Designer is able to translate business requirements, user needs, and technical capabilities into designs that are visually exciting, easy to use, and emotionally engaging.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in product ideation and conceptual development.
  • Create visual designs that effectively communicate product function and brand identity, including the design and production of screen layouts, color palettes, typography, user interface elements, and icons.
  • Design motion graphics and animation effects.
  • Produce wireframes, design specifications, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes.
  • Successfully communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
  • Participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes creative leads, other designers, project management, business and brand strategists, and software developers.

Required:

  1. Strong Design skills including but not limited to: logo design, color theory, typography, composition, grids, layout
  2. Strong portfolio, preferably multivariate (packaging, print, web)
  3. Be able to explain & defend design decisions. (IE. I used this color because …)
  4. Experience with wireframes & rapid prototyping.
  5. Working knowledge of how to design with/for web standards
  6. Working knowledge of Adobe Graphic design packages, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign etc.
  7. Interest in information architecture, Marketing, UX, HCI.
  8. Eagerness to learn
  9. Self-motivated, speedy, well-organized
  10. Flexible and team-oriented

  2. Contributions/memberships to sites like Forrst, sitepoint.com, 99designs, sortfolio & the likes.
  3. Understand the elements of effective interactive design
  4. A blog/website showing passion for the art & science of graphic design and showing his point of view.
  5. Expert understanding of CSS, HTML, JavaScript & the semantic web
  6. Successful experience launching Web-based projects
  7. Working knowledge of audio & video editing software.
