Product Manager – Content Distribution

Our New Haven, CT headquarters is looking to hire a self-starter as Product Manager.  The Product Manager – Content Distribution will recommend plans and manage operations and projects related to the distribution of our premium content and services on all delivery platforms including web, email, mobile, social media, and other distribution channels.  A key area of responsibility is the central management of the email distribution platforms, the related content delivery processes, and the quality of email deliverability performance.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology and innovation with a commitment to client service.   Demonstrated skill will include effective communication, collaboration and coordination with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for managing systems and processes that optimize multi-channel distribution of our product content.  (Via online, email, mobile, social media, and other product delivery channels)
  • Primary oversight of the email distribution platforms and the related content delivery processes.
  • Manage the quality of email deliverability performance utilizing internal and external technology providers including ESPs (Email Service Providers).  Own the ESP relationship and work with in-house team to manage deliverability.
  • Partner with service providers to ensure system performance
  • Assess product delivery initiatives and recommend solutions
  • Work cross-functionally with internal and external teams to translate needs and requests from sales, research teams, software developers and advisors and other stakeholders into product requirements.
  • Effectively define, coordinate and communicate business requirements with technical teams
  • Participate in integration projects to identify requirements and to facilitate and conduct testing
  • Coordinate implementation of new services and product features
  • Act as a resource to internal users and stakeholders
  • Resolve customer issues related to distribution platforms such as exception subscription/unsubscribe requests and researching customer access or content receipt.
  • Measure key performance metrics for products and product distribution channels including deliverability, open rate, conversion, bounce/unsubscribe rates, access and usage rates, traffic and web analytics)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
  • Product Management experience
  • Experience in technical product management
  • Experience with primary responsibility for email and content distribution platforms (such as outbound  bulk in-house email or ESP, web, web affiliate, or mobile)
  • Knowledge of email marketing and distribution best practices:  segmentation, campaign analysis, A/B testing, delivery and deliverability issues, analytics and program performance management.
  • Knowledge of  CAN-SPAM compliance requirements and best practices
  • Project Management knowledge and experience
  • Vendor Management knowledge and experience including management of SLA performance
  • Experience interacting with teams across business and technology functions
  • Experience using, implementing or administering CRM and/or customer information file systems a plus
  • Knowledge of online media, search, and/or ecommerce
  • Strong background in testing/feedback/user acceptance
  • Developing and managing reporting of ROI metrics for web and or email distribution programs including site performance, traffic analysis and deliverability
  • Developing and managing reporting of ROI metrics for product volume, mix , usage and delivery performance
