iZotope Software Engineer Intern for BT
About the Job
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual for a software development
intern position focused on the creation of music tools and effects with GRAMMY-
nominated composer, producer and technologist BT. Qualified applicants should be
aware of trends in music technology, and have demonstrable experience with both
electronic music production techniques and software development in C++. The ideal
candidate will also be familiar with tools such as Csound, Max/MSP or SuperCollider for
prototyping music software, Ableton Live as a music production environment and
iZotope effect plug-ins.
Required Qualifications:
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Deep knowledge of digital audio, music production and sound design techniques
• Basic understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
• Experience developing software in C/C++
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2-3 years formal software development training as part of a Computer Science
undergraduate program
• Proficiency with Csound, Max/MSP, SuperCollider, or an equivalent patching
environment
• Formal music training and/or music performance experience
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, Apple Xcode, and/or GIT
• Knowledge of scripting in Perl and/or Bash
Responsibilities will include:
• Working closely with BT to conceptualize and design new product concepts
• Prototyping new music production tools and audio effects
• Assisting in the development of iZotope products and technology
• Testing and ensuring accuracy of DSP algorithm implementation
• Fixing bugs and assisting in patching and maintenance of released products
Note that consideration will be given to candidates who lack expertise in one or more of
the desired skills but are able to provide a strong cover letter and can demonstrate
proficiency in one or more of the other areas of qualification.
