[JOB] Manager Marketing Strategy Analysis

 

Due to expansion of our Data Strategy and Analysis practice in New York, SapientNitro is seeking a seasoned digital media strategist for our revenue generating consulting and services group.

 

The Manager will lead the use of data and data strategy across a full spectrum of marketing efforts based out of our New York office.   He or she will drive thought leadership and business development initiatives across a complete Data Strategy & Analysis offering.  The Manager will also serve as trusted advisor to key decision makers, both externally and internally.

 

The Manager is responsible for delivering to the agency, account team, and client “data-based solutions” that drive insight at the campaign-execution, web site, global and operational levels.  It is the responsibility of the Manager to help conceive of and implement integrated data strategies that result in measurable results. The goal of the strategist is to improve marketing performance and the quality of customer relationships by transforming data into actionable business results.  In addition, this role will help to provide analysis, forecasting and reporting that informs and improves the effectiveness of the planning, execution and optimization of marketing strategy and online programs.

 

This person is critical to creating the analytical backbone and monetization models to differentiate the SapientNitro solution, creating competitive advantage for our customer’s business.

 

To be successful, this individual must be highly analytical, have a proven track record in data-rich analysis, a self-starter, responsive and business savvy.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility Include:

Analytics Lead

  • Either directly or in partnership with analysts, prepares qualitative assessments from quantitative analysis.  This would include being able to pull, organize and analyze large portions of data using various web analytics or business intelligence tools, such as Omniture, Unica, WebTrends and Google Analytics
  • Apply forecasting techniques and methodologies during strategic planning process.  Work with a wide range of statistical modeling methodologies and build statistical models for behavioral predictions
  • Work with teams with multiple discipline representation (technology, creative, and strategy)
  • Identify and resolve reporting and data integrity issues
  • Identify marketing opportunities through our proprietary customer segmentation methodology
  • Participate in large cross-functional projects as a marketing strategy and analytics expert to ensure cross-functional projects are consumer centric and aligned with company marketing strategy
  • Create and produce analytical dashboards; identifying ‘quick wins’ and areas of optimization
  • Contribute data strategy insight and thought-leadership during new business pitches
  • Participate in internal or client-related database development as required to integrate acquisition, retention and site data into a BI environment for future analysis and reporting

Marketing Strategy & Planning

•     Develop deliverable frameworks and guide development of core marketing strategies, including:

o         Pilot Program Development

o         Customer Segmentation Strategy

o         Sales / Marketing Lifecycle Development

o         Concept Modeling

o         Web/Domain Strategy

o         E-commerce/POS/Pop Strategy

o         Marketing Strategy

o         CRM Strategy

•     Coordinate and consolidate insights across primary and secondary research, analytics, brand strategy and marketing strategy to create holistic view of current marketing and business performance and identify opportunities for optimizing marketing and business strategy

•     Develop short-term ‘quick wins’ and longer-term roadmaps for activating marketing strategies

 

Business Development

•     Support business development activities, client proposals and Statements of Work

•     Build relationships with clients and identify new business opportunities (up-sell)

•     Identify new business opportunities across the full spectrum of Marketing Strategy & Analysis offerings (cross-sell)

  • Integrate comprehensive solutions that highlight the importance of measurement and return-on-investment

 

Client and Project Management

•     Create strong working relationships with clients in marketing and marketing strategy and analysis roles

•     Lead broad spectrum of analytics engagements and manage all client deliverables

•     Serve as trusted advisor to key decision makers internal to Sapient as well as external clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree a plus
  • 2 – 3 years in data or business analysis or related field
  • Previous experience in a digital agency or consultancy preferred
  • Must possess strong communication and presentation skills
  • At least 2 years experience implementing and optimizing web analytics technologies (e.g., WebTrends, Omniture, Unica, Google Analytics); possession of technical administrative or advanced training certification a plus
  • At least 1 year of experience with various web site testing scenarios (A/B, multivariate, etc.), test plan creation; deep knowledge of the vendors that play in that space (e.g., Optimize, Test & Target, Optimost)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint; Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access desirable
  • Experience with SAS, SPSS, SQL Server and other analytical tools a plus
  • Must be able to work independently, with little supervision, in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to explain analytical outcomes to internal and external clients in business terms
  • Ability to contribute new ideas to benefit the overall Data Strategy & Analysis business

 

 

Computer and Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint; Advanced-level sought in Excel (Macros, VBA) and Access
  • Power user of:
    • Web Analytics tool implementation and reporting optimization (e.g., WebTrends, Omniture, Unica, Google Analytics)
    • Web site testing and optimization tool implementation and crafting test and measurement plans  (e.g., Test & Target, Optimize, Optimost)
    • Experience with data mining tools (e.g., SAS, SPSS, SQL Server) strongly preferred
    • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Cognos) a plus
    • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Swivel, Revisit, amMap, Advizor, Spotfire) a plus
    • Experience with other digital analytical tools (e.g., Hitwise, Compete, Quantcast, Nielsen, Comscore) a plus
