JOB: Parallel Development – Extra Hands in Fabrication

Extra hands needed!

The Company

Parallel Development is a small, Greenpoint-based engineering and fabrication shop.
We build fine and public art installations incorporating interactive media and custom LED
displays. Check out www.paralleldevelopment.net to see some past projects.

The Work

We’re in immediate need of temporary workers to help with fabrication and assembly of
two public arts projects, one for MoMA PS1 and another for the Broadway-Lafayette
MTA station.

We need individuals that are mechanically inclined to cut, strip, crimp, and fish wire,
install fasteners, solder, glue, use power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and maybe
even run the CNC mill. And we may ask you to run an errand every now and again.

The pay ain’t great–we can offer $10-15/hour depending on skill level–but could be a
nice supplemental income for the right person.

The Schedule

We’re quite flexible. If you’re only available mornings or afternoons or some odd mashup
of the two, we can probably make it work. All we ask is that you show up when you say
you will and are diligent while you’re here.

How to Apply

If this sounds like something you may be interested in, please send a note and resume
to info@paralleldevelopment.net with the subject line ‘Extra Hands’.
