INTERN: The LAB at Rockwell Group – prototyping pcomp intern

The LAB at Rockwell Group is seeking a Physical
Prototyper with basic electronics and software development skills. This
is a full-time paid 3 month internship.  The intern will have a fair
amount of creative freedom in developing a number of interactive
objects. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get into
exhibition/environments design.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with Arduino
  • Proficiency with at least one of the following: Processing,
    Open Frameworks, Javascript
  • Basic electronics and electronics assembly (comfortable
    soldering, etc)
  • Interfacing various
    sensors using protocols such as: serial, i2c, spi, etc.
  • Interfacing various I/O components such as buttons, switches,
    LED matrix, etc.

Nice to have (but not
required) skills:

  • Experience working
    with actuators such as servos, motor drivers, etc.
  • PCB layout
  • Experience with openframeworks, Processing or Cinder
  • HTML5 experience
  • Android development experience
  • Understanding of OOP and Design Patterns
  • Form making (CAD, model making, laser cutting, etc).
