Intern: NBCU Advanced TV Applications/Systems (PAID)

The NBCU Advanced TV team is looking for a highly motivated interns with engagement starting Spring semester 2012.

The NBCU Advanced TV team is responsible for building out systems and applications that support content synchronous to TV shows.  The team is currently doing new development for connected devices and looking for interns to write HTML5 applications and/or assist in rolling out new backend systems to support them.  During their tenure interns will gain first hand knowledge of how new technologies are developed and rolled out within a large media organization and have opportunities to collaborate with vendors for creating new products.

All Candidates must posses the following skills:

* Work well both independently and in a team environment
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong oral communication and presentation skills
* Curiosity and the willingness to embrace new, unfamiliar concepts
and processes
* Strong technical aptitude
* A positive attitude

Candidates interested in ATV Applications should posses:
* Proficiency in HTML5, CSS 3, Javascript and at least one backend programming language (ex: C, C++, Java, PHP, etc)
* Ability to understand/write technical documentation, such as API specifications

Candidates interested in ATV Systems should posses:
* Knowledge of Windows and Unix systems administration.

* LAMP-stack app development and troubleshooting.
* Familiarity with TCP/IP, proxies and firewalls.
