Senior Software Development Engineer:

FUSE (Future Social Experiences) Labs is a lab in the Microsoft Research. We are a nascent group with a mix of Microsoft and industry veterans along with a great engineering team. We are building a transformative social experiences that span social connectivity, ubiquitous data, rich media experiences and harness the capabilities of new sensors and devices. Like other labs, this advanced development team identifies “leapfrog” experiences that are more speculative or beyond the current mission of our product teams, which when successfully proven can become strategic elements of Microsoft’s products and services for consumers and information workers.
We are looking for an outstanding developer with a passion for building rich experiences across mobile and the cloud that stand the test of time and are simple to deploy and maintain. You will be responsible for:
Driving sound architecture, design, and implementation of client and server software through hands-on development
Providing thought leadership, architectural focus, and technical guidance on the team through your work
Drive technical investigations and prototyping in a fast-paced v1 environment
Qualifications:
An entrepreneurial spirit with a can do attitude – Self-starter, project finisher and adaptable, congenial colleague
Good communicator, able to analyze and clearly articulate complex issues and technologies understandably and engagingly.
Great design and problem solving skills, with a strong bias for architecting at scale
Hands-on experience of shipping a large scale, commercial, software solutions
Expert knowledge in C#, C++, and .NET
Knowledge of mobile, HTML/AJAX and XAML is a plus
7+ years as a software developer
