Job Description

 

Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is looking for an Intern to curate the inFUSION Gallery at the Brooklyn Infusion Center and a loaned art program for two outpatient facilities. The candidate should have a personal interest in art & healing and be familiar with the New York artist community. Interns work with MSKCC staff and patients to select a theme for the yearly exhibits at the gallery which include a collection of loaned art (for a period of 1 year) and quarterly rotating installations.

 

Interns are responsible for leading the RFP process, selecting the art to present to a decision making committee, and handling all general curatorial activities such as assisting with the loan processing, coordinating delivery of the art, placement, writing labels and wall texts, and assisting with the publicity for the exhibit opening event.

 

Requirements:

  • · Candidate pursuing a graduate-level degree in Curating, Art, History of Art, Museum Studies, Art Management
  • · Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • · Ability to work independently
  • · Willingness to travel to different artist’s studios
