[INTERN] Internships with Uncorked Studios

Uncorked Studios is looking for a mobile and web design intern for summer of 2012. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of interaction principles and user-focused business strategy. The design intern will report to the Creative Director and will be an integral part of a growing team focused on product design and development. At Uncorked you will have real client and product experience, meaningful intern tasks and the chance to work with expert mobile designers and developers directly.

Primary tasks will include working on real products, designing mobile interface features, cutting design assets for mobile apps and web projects, and presenting a culminating mobile design research project to the Uncorked team. Tasks may also include wireframing, desktop website design and development, writing website content, blog posting, and front-end coding with HTML and CSS.

Qualifications:
• Photoshop and Illustrator expertise
• Strong design portfolio showing skills in typography, color theory and user interface design
• Knowledgeable about mobile UX principles and limitations
• Work showing examples of mobile design thinking, wireframing, user interface design capabilities
• Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimum supervision
• Familiarity with semantic HTML and CSS

Bonus skills:
• Ability to code in HTML5 and CSS3
• Experience with Javascript/Jquery
• Solid writing ability
• Familiarity with php and WordPress theme editing
• Experience with webfonts

Compensation:
Internship may be paid or unpaid depending on skills, experience, and school credit requirements.
