Avec is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level User Experience designer to work on various interactive, web and mobile projects. We are looking for someone with an understanding of design principles and a proven ability in experience and interaction design on various platforms.We are a small, innovative design agency and our work is rooted in a strong discovery and branding process. A lot of our clients are startups, so the work goes beyond redesigning interaction but also encompasses product development to help small companies and startups bring their ideas to life. You would be an integral part of a small and collaborative team with a lot of hands on experience. We are looking to work alongside someone that will bring innovation and inspiration to each project. As such, an awareness of current design, interactive and web design trends is crucial.*Requirements:*
- Develop a visual story and conceptual language by creating elegant and refined user experiences through information architecture, heirarchies, problem solving, and interaction flows
- Our aesthetic is clean, elegant and sophisticated, and as such, the UX must follow in suit
- Demonstrated ability to analyze user needs as well as experience with user-centered design patterns and methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a close knit team of designers and developers
- Excellent oral, written, negotiation, and presentation skills with the innate ability to communicate – abstract concepts to audiences that are not adept in the user experience discipline. This includes conversations with clients as well as presentations.
- Ability to write clean, detailed client-facing documentation and presentations
- An eye for design in general; and more importantly, an understanding of the key principles of information design
- We do like perfectionists and self starters.
- 2-3+ years of proven experience
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Illustrator; Omnigraffle or Vizio
