Web / Graphic Design Internship
Overview
Host Committee is an exciting venture-funded Internet startup company focused on the
improving how the nightlife industry operates. We are using our advanced technology
platform to pioneer a turn-key end-to-end solution for nightlife planning and event
production.
Host Committee is a part of Trigger Media, a digital media-focused venture incubator.
Our team and advisors have been lead or early investors in some of the most exciting
tech and media start-ups to come out of Manhattan’s Silicon Alley and the digital media
world in recent years, including Daily Candy, Thrillist, Tasting Table, and Zynga.
Host Committee provides a unique opportunity to work directly with our product and
technology teams to execute critical design concepts across consumer touch-points.
This is a paid opportunity and/or for school credit.
Core Responsibilities
– Work closely with product and technology teams to execute web and graphic design projects, sometimes on short timelines
– Help extend Host Committee’s aesthetic, look and feel across all relevant consumer touch-points
– Develop intuitive website designs from wireframes using web design principles and best practices
Desired Experience & Characteristics
– Pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in Graphic Design, or equivalent related experience.
– Proven web and interactive design experience
– Understanding of how a design system is built and the elements required.
– Expert skill level in programs required for their discipline (Photoshop, Illustrator).
– Expert skill level in Adobe Creative Suite
– Strong attention to detail
– Understanding of web issues across Mac and PC platforms and different browsers (i.e. web-savvy).
– Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability
– Excellent written and oral communication skills.
– Enthusiasm, reliability and a team-oriented attitude
Terms and instructions
– Availability to work within our office 1-2 days per week.
– Eight to sixteen hours per week availability desired for at least 4 months, beginning immediately.
