[VOLUNTEER] Call for Volunteers – Future of Storytelling Summit

We’re looking for volunteers to help at The Future of StoryTelling — a one-day summit exploring new modes and technologies for how we communicate. You can learn more at futureofstorytelling.org.

What: The Future of StoryTelling Summit (FoST) is a one-day, invitation-only event that aims to further our understanding of the art and science of communication in the 21st century and beyond. Top thinkers and practitioners from diverse fields will be in attendance.
Part of FoST is the “Story Arcade,” an exhibit of 20 amazing examples of new kinds of storytelling on the Web, on tablets, on game consoles, and on new devices. We are looking for volunteers to help out in this exhibit by demo’ing some of the exhibits, ensuring guests are engaging well with the apps and other devices, and in general being emissaries for the Future of StoryTelling.

When: Friday, October 5th

Where: Snug Harbor, Staten Island

Overview: The Story Arcade is open from noon to 6:30 pm. We’d like volunteers to arrive in the morning, for orientation and training with the exhibits.

We’d like everyone to meet at Staten Island Ferry dock in Manhattan on Oct 5 at 7am. Someone will be there to greet you. The evening ends around 9pm – and volunteers are invited to the evening performance (includes a live performance by Pilobolus). There will be a lot of downtime during the day – you won’t be “on” from 7am to 9pm. The key demo time for the Story Arcade is from 4 to 6:30 pm.

You’ll be fed throughout the day plus you’ll be getting T-shirts so you’re essentially a moving information booth, with the opportunity to connect FoST speakers and participants.
