[GIG] FEMA Photographer – Full-Time Temporary

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) of the Department of Homeland Security has immediate openings for temporary positions in all 5 boroughs of New York City.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

•You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
•You must pass a background fingerprint/security check.
•You may be required to work 12 hour shifts….up to 7 days a week.
•You must provide two forms of ID: such as a VALID Driver License (We will not accept if expired), Social Security Card, Birth Certificate etc. or Passport.

Job description
Must have 1 to 3 years of professional photography/videographer experience, highly skilled in the use of a variety of photography/video equipment and be proficient in oral and written communications with ability to apply skills in coordination and problem solving efforts. Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office programs and be proficient in Adobe Premier Video Suite editing software. Ability to do internet research to collect information. Communicate with management and subject matter experts to obtain information in order to support program requirements for photographs or video production. Must perform under pressure, produce high quality photographs and videos and communicate strategies/products under tight timelines. Must be a high school graduate or have a GED. Must be a US citizen and provide I-9 documents (i.e. driver’s license and social security card or a current US Passport.) Will be required to pass a Federal Security background check.

Job duties
Schedule and perform photo shoots for disaster activities focusing on disaster damages, in accordance with the needs and priorities of the External Affairs operations. Review, document, and store photographs using the standard operating procedures of the Headquarters Public Affairs Office. Review and eliminate duplicate, bad quality and insignificant photos, keep written records of photos taken that include places and names of recognizable people and any consent form for photographs published with the person’s name. Must evaluate equipment and photo services needs, establish a schedule for filming disaster activities, and log and transfer video footage using Headquarters Public Affairs Office standard operating procedures. Must keep logs of all tapes, forward to television studio and arrange for dubs as needed. Coordinate video documentation activities with Headquarters television studio and coordinate and supply photos to Headquarters.
