KPCB Design Fellows Program Details

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (, a world-leading
venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley, has just launched the
KPCB Design Fellows Program and we’d like to share this opportunity
with you.

The Fellows Program pairs bright students across the country with
innovative startup companies located in Silicon Valley, beginning with
the summer of 2013.  The goal of the Fellows Program is for students
to gain significant experience working on some of the most unique and
challenging design problems, and to develop new and meaningful

Over the course of the summer, Design Fellows will develop their
design abilities through paid employment and mentorship by design
executives within a startup company. In addition, the Design Fellows
will also spend time with KPCB’s Design Council – Zach Klein, DIY;
Sahil Lavingia, Gumroad; Elle Luna, Mailbox; Gentry Underwood,
Mailbox; Marcos Weskamp, Flipboard; Wesley Yun, Samsung; Matt Beebe,
Tylr Mobile.

To complement the design work experience, Design Fellows will also be
invited to exclusive events hosted by KPCB-funded companies, where
they can meet other talented designers, network with design
luminaries, and explore the San Francisco Bay Area. To ensure that
Design Fellows have the best possible experience during the summer,
the program will accept only a limited number of top applicants. KPCB
anticipates having 10 Design Fellows for the summer 2013 program.

The application period for the summer 2013 KPCB Design Fellows Program
opened on November 20, 2012. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm
PDT on January 31, 2013.
