Cancer Patients from all fifty states come to our facilities to receive conventional and complementary treatment in a compassionate and caring environment. Our direct marketing efforts cover all major advertising channels, including television, radio, print and online. We now seek a Director of Social Media to help provide insight into our online marketing efforts.

 

The Director of Social Media will create strategies and programs contributing to the achievement of the CTCA social media and internal communications growth objectives. The Director will be responsible for leading the Cancer Treatment Centers of America Social Media and Internal Communications strategies while coordinating with key internal stakeholders ensuring alignment and effectiveness of all Social Media efforts. The position will be charged with creating and implementing non-traditional programs and breakthrough social network platforms to generate further brand engagement and attract and engage key targeted external audiences as well as internal stakeholders, increasing CTCA brand awareness, recognition and perception. The Director will use social networks to position CTCA as a cancer authority by distributing useful and valued information, engaging CTCA stakeholders in active dialogues, and providing relevant, fresh and valuable content to key audiences.
Responsibilities

Social Media

Create the CTCA social media vision. Oversee the development and execution of our social media strategy with a staff capable of positioning CTCA to key audiences and advance its business and social goals. Negotiate and secure IT support and tools necessary to have Cancer News Network reach its objectives and reach all targeted audiences. Oversee all content and content development for Cancer Center News Network. Actively seek out and use 3rd party partnerships to advance the CTCA social media presence and objectives. Track all social media activity by specific KPI, by audience. Lead collaboration with hospital earned and social teams, and with web team leveraging the enterprise-wide social media impact.

 

Stakeholder Communications

Significantly increase stakeholder awareness, engagement and satisfaction/loyalty by instituting a robust stakeholder communications program. Working with Social Media Manager, transform use of the intranet by CTCA Stakeholders into a dynamic place to go for real time information on CTCA, learn about enterprise-wide campaigns, news and to celebrate successes. Convene focus groups and surveys as a source of internal market research to create innovative stakeholder activities. Transform stakeholder communications with an online, social platform addressing enterprise-wide communication and interactive needs with social networking. Promote stakeholder communications agenda and strategy to CTCA leadership.

 

Talent Management and Development

Provide professional guidance, mentoring and development to CTCA social media team members. Work with the team members to identify areas of potential professional growth and development using CTCA professional development programs. Participate in recruitment, onboarding and orientation of social media team Stakeholders.

 

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of a BS/BA in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field.
  • 10 years of Public Relations experience with 7+ years of national media relations and social media experience and 7 years leading a public relations team.
  • 5 years of experience working in the healthcare industry or related field with knowledge of the provider community preferred.
  • Master’s degree in related field is a plus. Agency experience helpful not required.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of social media and networking platforms, and a strong understanding of new media consumer behaviors and trends. Requires mix of strong interactive and social media background.
  • Active involvement in social media networks: Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
  • Proven track record of generating results, managing teams and collaborating with others on integrated efforts in digital and social media.
  • Solution-oriented approach to achieve strategic and messaging objectives across a diverse group of key audiences.
  • Ability to manage heavy workloads with flexibility to rapidly shift priorities based on organizational needs.
  • Innovative, creative thinker with strong management and organizational skills with demonstrated and excellent attention to detail. Must have successful track record of managing detail-oriented work under tight deadlines and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage social audiences and interaction, and to leverage those relationships into productive audiences who will favorably support the CTCA brand in key online communities.
  • Develop communications strategy directed specifically at the achievement of measurable CTCA social network objectives
  • Able to develop and direct creation of specific editorial, and content that will measurably improve brand awareness, recognition, favorability, esteem and achievement of CTCA Growth objectives across key, targeted audiences.
  • Ability to teach, lead, communicate and work successfully across operational units and corporate teams, at the highest levels of the organization.
