Part-Time Research Laboratory Technician Internship
Job Summary
A part-time, unpaid position is currently open for a Research Intern to join the Biomedical Engineering Laboratory team at Riverside Research. The Research Intern will support various research activities at our Frederic L. Lizzi Center for Biomedical Engineering at our New York Research Office located at 156 William Street, New York, NY.
Principal Responsibilities
- • Perform tasks pertaining to scientific instrument making
- o Assemble electronics
- o Test electronic and optical equipment
- o Light machining
- • Operate and maintain basic lab equipment (e.g., balances, pH meters, stir plates, etc.)
- • Record research and environmental data, and perform rudimentary data analysis
- • Perform other related duties as assigned
- • Potential to present results at scientific conference
Job Requirements
- • Undergraduate or masters level student in good standing (engineering or science background a plus)
- • Basic knowledge of electronics and electronic assembly including soldering REQUIRED
- • Excellent written and oral communication skills required to share findings from experiments and other research activities.
- • Ability to follow instructions and discuss concerns/issues.
- • Analytical thinking and problem solving
- • Attention to detail

- • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a diverse research laboratory environment as well as in an office setting
