The Museum of the City of New York seeks freelance website designers to transform museum exhibitions about the past, present and future of New York City into interactive websites. The websites will feature maps, historical photographs, prints, ephemera, and three-dimensional artifacts–materials that often require special attention when digitized. The museum seeks experienced professional designers with strong conceptual, design, and technical skills. The websites should be creative and easy to use; support a range of visitors from elementary students to scholars;, and induce interaction as well as repeat visits. The designer will work closely with the curator of the related exhibition and other museum personnel.
