Job Description:
We’re looking for a UI/UX design intern, who will be involved in the design and branding of our mobile iOS LBS/SNS and social media app (Doors & Dots) and various platform solutions. The applicant will complete tasks both remotely & at our office in Jersey City, NJ, and will be at the forefront of efforts to offer an engaging user experience to Doors & Dots users. This position is project specific and will necessitate that a successful candidate be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, have strong interpersonal communication skills, and not be afraid to take chances with
their artistic license.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Translate requirements into concepts and engaging designs.
-Create interaction models, user task flows, and screen designs, including customized UI/UX protocols and exciting color/layout and typography schemes.
-Manage and maintain graphic files electronically (logos, icons, photos, and artwork).
-Collaborate with other designers and with programming/engineering staff.
-Develop and adjust design mockups and specifications.
Qualifications:
-Strong communication and multi-tasking skills.
-Experience with consumer-facing, mobile-application interfaces.
-Professional skills in Photoshop and/or Illustrator, and familiarity with wire-framing tools such as InDesign or other tools
-Knowledge of prototyping methodologies and best practices.
-Familiarity with a variety of mobile UI/UX design paradigms
Pluses:
-Intermediate proficiency in video editing (Quicktime, Final Cut Pro, After Effects).
-Skills in Basic, HTML, and CSS
