JOB: Little Heel, web developer for startup

Site Name:
Little Heel
The Business Concept:
“Kayak for low-heeled shoes and flats”
One site that curates the best, most attractive flats and low-heeled shoes from across the web. It simplifies an otherwise lengthy and frustrating search process.
Option 1: The site will have editorial content but will largely focus around filterable pages of shoes. Visitors can click on shoes to link to retailer website to actually purchase shoe.
Option 2: Editorial content will continue but instead of sending customers off site for a purchase they will be able to check out from multiple retailers on littleheel.com (similar technology to 72 Lux).
Site Monetization:
Affiliates – The site will initially be monetized through affiliate commissions earned from visitors clicking through links on site to purchase shoes.
Advertising – As monthly visits grows, Little Heel will look to attract followers
Co-branding – As the Little Heel brand grows it will partner with fashion brands and retailers
Features site will need:
Prowler to search for shoes
Search engine optimization
Affilate linking
Advertising hosting
On-site checkout (if feasible)
Email templates
Design templates (will employ separate designer if necessary)
About Me:
My name is Caroline Young and I’m a graduate student at Stern (final year). I’ve been running Little Heel as a shoe blog in my spare time but spent the past semester developing a business plan to transform the site from a blog to a profitable e-commerce site. My professional background is in marketing and branding but my interest in shoes began early and was fostered during my time studying footwear design and construction at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I’m looking for a tech-savvy partner to help me build Little Heel into a sustainable business. While tech skills are essentials, an interest in building something really unique and special is critical. Please reach out with any questions at all: cly252@stern.nyu.edu
