[JOB] Interactive Designer Position, Faculty Innovations in Teaching and Learning Program at NYU Poly

Position Description:

Seeking a creative, motivated, detail-oriented individual to produce interactive, engaging multimedia objects for online/onsite courses.

This position will require the use of creative software and programming techniques to develop powerful and effective interactive applications.

The selected candidate will work on two major projects involving graphical interface designing.

 

Preferred Commitment:

10 – 15 hours per week for a two-month minimum.

 

Pay Rate:

$20 – $25 per hour

 

Responsibilities:

Create instructional, graphical materials for course content following style guidelines

Work on Branding material, logos, e-posters, videos backdrops, etc…

Create interactive content templates for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses using different authoring software

Create graphical user interfaces for Multimedia, Web, and Blackboard courses

Work and collaborate with the Faculty Innovations in Teaching and Learning Center (FITL) team to ensure designs and content are in line with the Center’s objectives

 

Desired Qualifications:

Senior or Graduate Student in Interactive Designer Program

Skills: Graphic Design, Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Flash, Photoshop, Dreamweaver.etc…), Working knowledge of CSS/HTML, Javascript and ActionScripting, Microsoft Office software

Ability to learn new software applications and programming techniques in a short period of time

Experience in user-interface design, page layout, navigation and interactive multimedia

Must have excellent command of color, space, type, motion graphics, storyboarding, audio, music, etc

Working knowledge of the advanced ActionScripting necessary to create user interactive flash applications

Ability to efficiently produce multimedia along with the ability to understand instructional needs and translate them into graphic and multimedia designs.

Knowledge of the Blackboard Learning Management System

Good oral and written communication skills
