The BBC News is putting together a six-month “video innovation group” in London, a collection of experienced journalists and internet minds from around the company who specialize in innovative storytelling through video. The group will be tasked with coming up with creative methods to increase viewership and audience engagement on new and emerging platforms, ie social, mobile and elsewhere.
We are currently seeking an outside online community strategist to come up with creative ways of turning heads toward the video we will be producing on these platforms. This individual can advise on penetrating existing online groups and building excitement around a piece of content. He or she will draft calculated plans for planting video around the internet to help the BBC News brand grow and assist in informing the content creation process by addressing the types of video appropriate for each platform. By being the online community expert of the group, you will help steer the direction of content creation.
This will be a freelance position for six months. Travel to London is required, though the ability to work remotely can be discussed. Please send all correspondence to matthew.danzico@bbc.co.uk. Please do not post this message publicly.
