Digitally-focused freelance development executive, Broadcast TV group
Broadcast television group seeks executive to co-manage the solicitation, review, and development of original, interactive programming concepts. Short-term position for 3-6 months, with potential for additional involvement.
Key responsibilities
• Drive interactive elements of proposed original programming:
– Establish relationships with interactive / digital prod. companies to increase quality / quantity of pitches
– Vet pitches (serve as team expert on attractiveness and feasibility of proposed interactive elements)
– Identify appropriate vendors to make shows’ interactivity a reality
• Partner with existing development executive (deeply experienced in network TV) to cultivate production company relationships and bring together companies with complementary capabilities
• Develop monetization strategies based on shows’ interactive elements (ads, e-commerce, gaming, etc.)
• Manage creative team and vendor relationships throughout development, production, and packaging
• Plan producer salons and other events to network with production community
• Represent the company at relevant industry events (e.g., The Social Shake-Up)
Qualifications
• Deep knowledge of the social TV ecosystem and network of relationships across relevant companies (social networks, curation and syndication platforms, content discovery enablers, sharing technology providers, second-screen app developers, ad serving platforms, device manufacturers, etc.)
• Min. 5-7 years prior development experience; successful track record of bringing creative, interactive ideas to broadcast and / or cable TV preferred
• Experience in marketing at a major network or within a creative services firm with network clients preferred
